Powder brows can be particularly suitable for clients who have sparse brows, uneven brow shape or simply want to reduce the time spent applying brow makeup.

What Happens During a Permanent Makeup Appointment?

Your appointment begins with a thorough consultation and design process.

We'll discuss your desired result, previous treatments, colour preferences and any relevant health information.

The area is then carefully measured and designed before treatment begins. You will have the opportunity to approve the proposed shape and style before pigment is implanted.

The treatment itself involves using a specialist permanent makeup device to carefully implant pigment into the skin.

Is Permanent Makeup Painful?

Comfort levels vary between individuals and according to the treatment area.

A topical anaesthetic or other appropriate comfort measures may be used where suitable. You may experience some sensitivity, pressure or discomfort during treatment.

Your comfort will be monitored throughout your appointment.

How Many Appointments Will I Need?

Permanent makeup generally requires an initial treatment followed by a separate perfecting/top-up appointment once the skin has healed.

The top-up allows us to assess how your skin has retained the pigment and make any appropriate adjustments to colour, shape or density.

The timing of your top-up will be discussed during your appointment and will depend on the treatment performed and your individual healing.

What Is the Healing Process Like?

Immediately after treatment, the colour can appear stronger or darker than the healed result.

As the skin heals, the pigment gradually softens and settles. You may experience temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness or flaking depending on the treatment area.

It is important not to pick, scratch or prematurely remove any flaking skin during the healing process.

How Long Does Permanent Makeup Last?

Permanent makeup is designed to provide long-lasting results, but it is not necessarily permanent for life.

Pigment gradually fades and changes over time due to factors including skin type, sun exposure, lifestyle, skincare and individual pigment retention.

A maintenance treatment may be recommended when the colour has faded sufficiently.

 

Can Existing Permanent Makeup Be Treated?

Existing permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing does not automatically mean you are suitable for a new treatment.

If you have previous work, please send photographs before booking so that the area can be assessed.

In some cases, existing pigment may need to fade or be removed before new work can be carried out. This will be discussed during your consultation.

Permanent makeup is an invasive cosmetic procedure and, like any treatment that breaks the skin, carries potential risks.

A consultation and suitability assessment are completed before treatment. Relevant health information, previous procedures, medications and any existing permanent makeup will be considered.

Treatment will only be carried out where it is considered appropriate and suitable.
