ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Anti-wrinkle injections (botulinum-toxin A) have many uses, not just limited to reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles that they are injected into, this limits the use of the muscle and therefore limits the ability of the skin on top of that muscle to continue to crease and move as much, which is what can cause some of the lines and wrinkles on the face.

Some lines and wrinkles on the face can be completely eliminated with the use of these injections.

Typically, anti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce or eliminate lines and wrinkles, on the forehead, in the frown area, and around the eyes. The lines and wrinkles in these areas are typically caused by the muscles used to make facial expressions.

However, anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to slim the jaw area (if a bulker jaw is due to an overactive masseter/jaw muscle). Botulinum Toxin injections can also reduce or completely stop, teeth clenching and teeth grinding, as this issue is related to the masseter/jaw muscle.

Smoker's lines and some expression lines around the mouth can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections, as can a gummy smile (where the muscle around the mouth, pulls the top lip up over the gum line when smiling).

Anti-wrinkle injections can treat neck lines, also known as a 'Nefertiti Neck Lift', if the lines on the neck are being caused by the muscles pulling the skin. A down-turned smile can be treated and the jowl area of the face. Sometimes the muscles in this region of the face can be responsible for pulling the skin down into the jowl area, if this is the case anti-wrinkle injections can help.

With over 50 yeas of medical research and 30 years of aesthetic research, anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and fully licensed drug in the UK.
